VITAL STATISTICS

The county clerk's involvement in the area of vital statistics is principally in the issuing of marriage licenses, and the recording of birth and death certificates and the issuing of certified copies of the same. The clerk is closely supported in these activities by the Department of State Health Services in Austin.
